As I see it the tri-servises want to attract people to join (from a civy street point of view). But there is a difference between serves people and civy street. Serves people are very full of themselves (extremely confident and arrogant). Gay's in Civy street on the other hand are the opposite. However because of the way the environment has treated gay's they are often better suited serves life, compared to the cotton-wall kid's of today. Tpr Wharton needs a mandate and to be promoted to Sargent to have any clout over the other personnel. Come on Whitehall give him a proper job? This is a PR stunt?

I encounted lots of Gay Soldiers while I was serving, I never slept with one, but made it up with civilians!
